About Us
Pique’s Philosophy of Good Food
At Pique, we bring the art of fine pastry and good coffee to life with intention and integrity. Our café was lovingly founded by chef-owner Taszia Thakur and her husband Karan Thakur, a partnership that blends their shared devotion to craft, quality and community.
Inspired by Taszia’s upbringing on a grain farm in Saskatchewan, the café is deeply rooted in a respect for the land and a love for honest, nourishing food. Guided by the rhythm of nature, we craft seasonal menus and prioritize sourcing locally to support nearby growers and producers who share our values.

To accompany our pastries, we proudly serve sustainable, high-quality coffee — a reflection of Karan’s deep passion for exceptional coffee. Every cup is made with ethically sourced beans, carefully roasted to honor both the farmers and the environment. Each coffee is prepared with thoughtfulness, care, and an appreciation for the craft, so that every sip speaks to our commitment to quality and sustainability.
Our goal is to offer a perfect marriage of exceptional food and coffee, thoughtfully brought together and served with warmth and care, providing a welcoming space where guests can savor both quality and genuine connection. Therefore, we strive to be more than a café, we strive to be a gathering place dedicated to excellence in every layer and fold.
